On 1st<\/sup> September 2012, it was a double anniversary to celebrate for the home brewers from the Nassau region: The regional brewing group Hausbrauer Nassauer Land<\/a><\/span> has been founded ten years ago, and the oldest brewery in this group, M\u00fchlenbr\u00e4u Eschhofen<\/a><\/span>, looks back on 20 years of brewing history. For this reason, Dirk Wagner from M\u00fchlenbr\u00e4u Eschhofen<\/a><\/span> as well as Andreas Schwickert and Georg Muth from Brunnen Br\u00e4u Dietkirchen decided to host the annual home brewers\u2019 meeting 2012 in their breweries.<\/p>\n

It was a wonderful late summer afternoon, when the home brewers arrived at the M\u00fchlenbr\u00e4u Eschhofen<\/a><\/span> home brewery, where Dirk Wagner welcomed them with freshly brewed beer and an Original Bavarian Brotzeit, consisting of meat loaf, radish and pretzels. In his garage, Dirk had prepared an exhibition of 20 years brewing history \u2013 from the early beginnings in 1992 until today, he has collected all items he had ever used, and presented them on some wooden benches, whilst in the background, the guests could watch an endless presentation of pictures from past brewing events.<\/p>\n

The mayor of the municipality Eschhofen, Daniel Stenger, officially opened the meeting by tapping the first keg of homebrew; and by presenting a huge bouquet of flowers to Landlady Daniela Wagner, he thanked the hosts warmly for organizing the event.<\/p>\n

After the about 20 home brewers had strengthened their bodies with M\u00fchlenbr\u00e4u and various Bavarian snacks, they walked through the Lahn valley to Dietkirchen, enjoying the warm evening sun. In Dietkirchen, the Brunnen Br\u00e4u Dietkirchen home brewery hosted the second part of the event. In the backyard of the Muth properties. The home brewers had a huge BBQ; and the group enjoyed a large number of commercially and home brewed beers and exchanged experiences from their last batches and brews.<\/p>\n

The absence of binge drinking gravy train riders made this meeting a very harmonic one; and the mayor as well as guests from far away (D\u00fcsseldorf!) stretched their visit as long as possible.<\/p>\n

The other day, during the late morning breakfast, we took stock of this year\u2019s meeting: With Froschbr\u00e4u, M\u00fchlenbr\u00e4u Eschhofen<\/a><\/span>, Antoniusbr\u00e4u, Brunnen Br\u00e4u Dietkirchen, Lindenbr\u00e4u, Bongardbr\u00e4u, Latzko-Bier, Bergener Bier Bieraten, Sudkreis Fronhausen<\/a><\/span> and Brunnenbr\u00e4u Original<\/a><\/span> as well as four home brewers without private brewery names, 14 breweries have been represented \u2013 a great and interesting experience for all. And at least two guests, who have not tried home brewing so far, expressed their firm belief to give it a try in the near future.<\/p>\n
