Another year – another anniversary. In 2013, the regional home brewers‘ group Hausbrauer Nassauer Land” held its annual meeting on 31st August 2013 in Fronhausen, where Sudkreis Fronhausen celebrated its 10th anniversary.
After a short warm up and welcome, the group first visited the nearby brewery “Privatbrauerei Gießen”. The brewery’s CEO, Achim Franzen, presented the brewery in every detail and finally introduced the new product portfolio in a short degustation in the tasting room on top of the brewery tower. This way, the home brewers were not only impressed by the interesting range of new tastes and aromas provided by Whisky Lager or unfiltered Kölsch style ale, but by the stunning view over the city of Gießen and the surrounding meadows and hills as well.
With a certain delay, the home brewers returned to Fronhausen, but before they could enjoy the perfectly prepared barbeque, they first had to give report to a young journalist from the regional newspapers.
Exploiting the short time between dinner and dusk, a quick beer pong tournament was held, and finally, the home brewers sat together for a long night, talking beer and enjoying the cosy gloom of a warm late summer evening.
